Who We Are

It’s the middle of the night and your child needs emergency care. You rush them to the ER and don’t want to leave their side. I’ve been there… a lot.

My daughter started having seizures when she was 11. We spent many nights over the years receiving medical help at various ERs. I put together a little bag of essentials for those events. I adjusted the items over time. Later when friends were going through their own difficult times (a sick child, spouse with cancer…), I wanted to show support with more than just dinner or flowers. I began giving these bags to friends with the hope they’d never need it, but they’d have it just in case.

With my daughter’s experience with hospitals and medical personnel, she grew up wanting to have a positive impact on patients as well. Go Bag seemed like the perfect way to help others, and provide an option beyond flowers or a meal train for friends in need.

Looking into hospital admissions, we discovered a couple of amazing things. There is a steady average of 131 Million ER admissions a year. The most common age? Under 1 years old. I vividly remember being in the ER when my son was 11 weeks old with RSV. When your baby is sick late at night, you can’t wait. I had everything he could possibly need in his baby bag, while I had nothing but my purse. I sat with my newborn son for 6 hours and wouldn’t have dreamed of being anywhere else. Having a Go Bag with me back then would have been so helpful. I know now what my gift is going to be for new parents.

We hope these bags provide a little extra support, just in case.
